**Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for sending me an ARC in return for an honest review. 2.5 stars!!! Upon first reading this book, I was excited. The idea of the MC Eva having a special gift called fractals that made her see other people's emotions was pretty exciting. But as always, I'm left completely unsatisfied with this story and majorly disappointed. The only thing I can say that I enjoyed about this book was the character's special gift. But everything else was so cliched. From the insta-love to the fact that our MC is a special snowflake to her best friend being oh so pretty but not being popular. This left me feeling like the story was pretty bland and lifeless. I was expecting something entirely different. The backstories of Zen and Eva were interesting enough I have to admit and the story of how they were connected was intriguing. But even this didn't dispel the negatives of the book. The other thing that I didn't like was the overly religious aspect of the book. As a Christian, I found that the way it was referred and mentioned about was highly irreverential and very off putting. This combined with the over the top teenage angst made me not take the book seriously at all. Although, the ending of the novel did get me and maybe that's the reason I'm giving it a 2.5 stars, it doesn't do much to redeem it. With regards to the writing, I thought it was fairly seamless and easy to read. The chapters were written in manageable sizes that made the pace brisk and there was no unnecessary info-dumping which was good. Overall, I didn't enjoy the book much. I'd properly give this one a miss but if you wish to read it, then go ahead.
